Petal Spirit snuff bottle

Hannah Lim was inspired by her childhood fascination with Chinese snuff bottles at the V&A to create sculptures. Her objects reflect her Chinese-British heritage, with intricate, functional, and hand-sized designs. Her larger pieces deviate from tradition by incorporating anthropomorphic elements and abandoning snuff. Initially depicting her heritage, Lim's sculptures now reflect diverse research points. Lim is currently exploring the ornamental and animate qualities of objects, inspired by Classical Chinese texts. She merges creatures and narratives to craft sculptural storytelling pieces.
