Lava Vase

This collection is rooted in an ongoing exploration of form, material and the abstract language of nature. It grows out of a series of drawings inspired by organic shapes found in plants, marine forms, shadows and reflections, images that I keep and develop as a personal visual vocabulary.

The collection translates these drawings into objects, bringing their fluid and often ambiguous forms into three dimensions. The series vases reinterprets elements from the drawings through ceramic, while glass is introduced both within the clay body and as a glaze, creating unexpected textures, transparencies and variations of colour. The sculptural bases explore a similar language, drawing from abstract forms and colours found in nature and translating them into three-dimensional compositions.

Rather than directly representing natural forms, the collection explores how they can be transformed, distorted and reimagined through material and process.
