Sema Topaloglu

Sema Topaloglu studied landscape architecture in Ankara, Turkey, and later moved to Belgium, where she developed her practice through creative workshops and hands-on experience at interor design studios and ateliers in Brussels. Refusing to be defined by a single place or local style, her work evolves through movement between geographes, cultures, and material traditons — shaped in partcular by working from Istanbul, a city at the intersecton of East and West.

Working closely with master artisans, Topaloglu designs furniture, objects, and spatial works that explore the expressive potential of materials. Her intuitive, material-driven process focuses on tactility, structural honesty, and craftsmanshp, resulting in pieces that sit between functon and artistc expresson. Her practce operates between Istanbul and Milan, engaging
with material, form, and cultural dialogue across contexts.
