Pia Glassworks
Design studio
Pia (1992) is an Argentine experimental artist based in Barcelona. Working primarily
in flameworked borosilicate glass, she builds a visual language rooted in fantasy, organic
transformation, and imagined worlds. Her practice explores fluidity, identity, and the subconscious through forms that suggest alternate realities and emotional states.
Her work merges craftsmanship with innovation, pushing the limits of what flameworked
glass can communicate on both a material and conceptual level.
Pia’s pieces have been shown internationally across exhibitions, design fairs, and fashion
contexts. She has participated in events such as Milan Design Week, 3 Days of Design in
Copenhagen, and Venice Glass Week, and her collaborations have been featured in various
Fashion Weeks around the world, including London, Paris, and Madrid, where she has
worked closely with designers and stylists to merge glass with wearable and performative
forms.
Alongside her studio practice, Pia teaches flameworking in Barcelona and leads private
workshops, contributing to the development of new voices in glassmaking and fostering
experimental approaches within the medium.
Through her ongoing body of work, Pia continues to expand the expressive potential of
glass, crafting objects that act as emotional artifacts, fragile portals into alternative realities
and reflections on the multiplicity of identity.
