Duccio Maria Gambi

Design studio
Duccio Maria Gambi (Florence, 1981) lives and works in Florence. Trained between the Radical Design environment during his design studies at Florence’s Architecture Faculty, and Milanese architecture theory during his period at the Politecnico, grown up through multiple and heterogeneous experiences and professional exchanges in Rotterdam with Atelier Van Lieshout and in Paris with ephemeral architecture collectives, Duccio approaches design from a variety of directions defining his practice across the wide edge between art and design.

Since 2012 and the opening of his workshop in Paris, where he’ve been living for five years, in his projects for Galleries and private commissions he maintains a research-storytelling approach where every work stands as a momentary reflection in an endless research on structures, materials, processes, time, which he carries on in his actual atelier and studio in his hometown Florence.
Big part of his works revolves around stone, concrete and the creation of value with poor materials through the artistic intervention.

His Work have been exhibited in galleries, museums, and international fairs in Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Uk, Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Spain, China, Usa, Argentina, UAE.
Winner of Object section at Miart 2017, his work Retrostorico is since then part of the permanent collection of the Triennale Design Museum. As the winner of the Premio Lissone Design 2019, three of his works from Guerra Fredda Collection are now part of MAC Lissone (Museo Arte Contemporanea Lissone) permanent collection.

AD magazine added Duccio to the list of the 100 influencing designers for 4 years
His collection Tempore for Cc-Tapis won the Elle Decor international award.
